The Human Resource Revolution
I am a Human Resouces person.
And (here’s the big news) you are too.
Here’s what I mean:
Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of inviting Bonnie–one of the people we selected to be interviewed for Rivertree’s Dream Series–and her niece to my classroom.
Bonnie and her husband, Bill, founded Lazy B’s Ranch, a local horse ranch that offers ongoing mentoring and character building for at-risk kids.
Clearly, I’m not on Bonnie’s P.R. staff.
It’s not in my job description to drum up special speakers for our school.
And no, I’m not the staff person who refers students to outside programs either.
But:
I know people who run a community program for at-risk kids.
AND it just so happens (here’s the clincher), I also know a lot of at risk-kids.
And one better? I even know people whose professions require them to refer at-risk kids to community programs.
Taking the simple step to connect these three groups of people is a no-brainer, right?
Nothing heroic.
Nothing complicated.
Just a phone call. An email. A 2-minute conversation.
Open to one super simple way to foster good in your social circles? See yourself as being in the Human Resources business. Determine to be the type of person who, when life presents the chance, is always willing to take the two-minutes to connect people and opportunity.
We can be in the Human Resources business together.
