Celebrating the With
Some artists workshopped together in London’s Red Bull studio to see what they could pull together in one week’s time. Even more than the eclectic exhibit they came up with, I love listening to them describe the experience in this video.
Like-minded… little family…bringing artists together.
They. Loved. Working. WITH. Each. Other.
And it shows.
And you see this in a lot of artistic endeavors.
WITH-ness is what draws people into creative communities like this one. (If I disappear, you’ll know where I went.)
It’s what makes people get together and pull off stadium art like this.
(You have to look at this second pic to grasp the full effect of what’s happening in that last one.)
And it’s what makes this—borrowing PEOPLE—an even better idea than just borrowing books.
It’s part of what draws creatives to Chicago for STORY.
It’s part of what makes the Ann Arbor film festival succeed year after year.
It’s even part of what makes it worthwhile to have an online presence—a Twitter profile, a Facebook page, a blog.
It’s the WITH.
That sweet middle word in the meaning of Emmanuel.
The part that links God to us.
And the part that links us to each other.
