The Camera Bag You Already Own

After a couple years of scouring the internet for a camera bag that doesn’t look like it fell off the Tote RV, I finally fell in love with an option that fits me–the girl who feels awkward when people notice her shooting photos.

The 110 pound weakling who doesn’t want her gear to scream “please-steal-my-camera”.

And the thrifty soul who isn’t willing to drop $200 so her camera can be housed in fashionista leather (although there’s no denying those trendy bags are cute).

So I’ve become a big fan of Domke, the inventive people who created an adjustable camera bag insert. You slip the custom padded compartments into any book bag or oversized purse you already own and by some sort of Transformer-more-than-meets-the-eye magic, it changes into a camera bag that can hold its own.(I can comfortably keep my camera, two zoom lenses, a wide angle lens, a supplemental flash and two chargers in this one.)

They won me over with their $27 price tag, not to mention the ability to dress my camera’s housing up or down depending on the event.

I know it’s a little offbeat to throw up a pseudo product review here, but I’m a bit of a generalist so I don’t sweat the variety. And every time I pack the bag, I’m just genuinely pleased that something so functional and easy exists.

There’s a creative out there somewhere who needs this info. And I just can’t withhold it from them any longer. =)

It’s handy, Katie. I take a different bag with me every time. :)
