A Ten Day Transformation
A couple weeks ago, I started blogging about “remembering faith”.
This lead to a small group of us scraping up these embarrassingly-easy-to-read books on the life and faith of D.L. Moody. You can grab the book for $2 if you want to come along.

In Moody’s early days, he ran a program for kids the modern world would label “at-risk”.
One year, one of the teachers in Moody’s program developed a health condition. And because the doctors believed the teacher was dying, the teacher and Moody decided to spend ten days traveling from house to house to see the kids in the man’s class.
Moody stood by and watched as the teacher had parting conversations–deathbed goodbyes–urging the kids in his class to follow Jesus. Moody gawked as each child prayed responsively, seemingly instantly morphing from shallow adolescents to urgent believers before his eyes.
This was the moment the entrepreneur Moody claimed that the “hundreds thousand gold dollars of his dreams turned to tinsel”.
And from this day on, Moody knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing what this dying man had done with his last ten days of goodbyes.
Read the first post about D.L. Moody here.

Well here I am again, the first to respond. What comes to my mind is the parallel of his life to mine. My husband had just graduated with an architectural degree from USC (California) when we met 22 years ago. We stood next to each other at the altar when a visting missionary inspired us by his own stories of faith. We left the promise of large paychecks and security to follow what we felt God called us to do. Still in ministry today and God has always taken care of our needs. The benefit of seeing others follow Christ exceeds monetary aspirations. God ordains our days, sometimes he uses just one person to inspire us to move in the right direction. Sarah, I feel that could be you for me in this season I find myself in. Signed up on your other post and that felt a bit scary!

@Shelly So glad God is stretching you. I always feel like its an act of obedience to bring an idea to expression… and what he chooses to do with that is up to him. :) Glad to have you around!
