How To Win People Over and Improve the Lives of Those Around You
How To Win People Over and Improve the Lives of Others
The marketing arena has proven again and again that repeated exposure to a message does eventually win people over. Say something enough, research shows, and it can even change a prospective client’s opinion.
In addition, if you repeat your designated message to a group of people, and they start to believe the message together, they will win other people over for you! Those repeating the message will form a self-reinforcing tribe.
It always makes me think…
What if the messages we were repeating were:
- I care about you.
- I hear you.
- I accept you for who you are.
- I appreciate for you.
- I validate you.
- I’m proud of you.
- I welcome you in my life.
- I notice what you’re doing.
And what if we said them to:
- Our children
- Our spouses
- Our extended family
- Our friends
- Our neighbors
- Our co-workers
What if we wanted to understand how to win people over to:
- a more connected way of living?
- a more attentive way of interacting with others?
- a more focused way of expressing care?
How would the existence of that kind of tribe improve our lives? Improve the lives of those around us? Improve our world?
The best way to win people over? Reinforce that they belong. People want to be won over to their deepest hopes and dreams.

I love this! I am a big believer in continually affirming people and letting them know that you care. It does make an impact. Thanks for the great reminder!

Thanks, Tammy! So great of you to leave a comment. And me too. I value people and want to learn better and better ways for showing it.
