Letter to a Friend
Two people met at a party in California. They found they had a few things in common. So they began to collaborate on a project.
“My very, very dear friend,” one wrote to the other, “I am encouraged by the route of our common destiny.”
Then the letter writer went on to describe how he was so smitten with his new friendship and the possibilities it held, that “the night of our meeting I spent almost entirely without sleep”.
In yet another letter, the friend wrote that he was sure their cooperative project would “become one of the most brilliant moments of my artistic career”. And, he added, “Don’t forget that in the hours of great artistic adventure, we should also try to develop great friendships.”
**Happy sigh.**
(Let’s go ahead and say it. This story is a Sarah goldmine.)
What could be better than chasing–and I’ll go ahead and insert God-given–dreams, except for maybe delighting in those dreams together.
And isn’t it amazing that dear friends like these–letter writer, Salvador Dali, and his recipient, Walt Disney–can spur each other on toward greatness?
So can we, my dear friends. So can we. :)
