Lists of Thoughts
1. I will now be calling the Command key on my new Mac the “Pinwheel key”. NO ONE write me and tell me what it’s actually called. Seriously. I don’t want to know.
2. The Emperor has mastered counting. Er…sorta. He’s been sitting here counting hundreds of packing peanuts. Here’s how the process sounds. “One….” He lines one up on the floor. “One….” Another one comes out of the box. “One…” He reaches for another. “One….one….one…” I would pay an inordinate amount of money for a TWO.
3. Leslie, my former co-worker who ran for school board, was elected. This marked the first time I’d ever let someone put a political sign in my yard. Ever. I’m now convinced I can get anyone elected anywhere. Who is the highest bidder?
4. My buddy, Nathan, just did a three day fast with his college kids. We have a regular table at a local spot where he will tell me about it…as soon as he recovers.
5. This week is basketball tryouts for Coach Cunningham (my hubby). I can think of few worse jobs than telling high schoolers their dreams are crushed. I would keep like 320 kids on the bench…just in case. (Think how fierce our full court press could be.)
6. Sparky Anderson died. Please tell me you had the good sense to appreciate how cool the nickname “Sparky” was while he was still living.
7. Mary Darling has been a long-time mentor in my life. I’ve known her 14 years. She means something to me. She’ll be talking about her new book, Connecting with Jesus, in Frankenmuth on Wednesday. If you live near there, you should go.
Like anyone needs another reason to go. Hellooooo. Frankenmuth. You can’t go wrong with year-round Christmas.
8. I’m thinking about just starting to tweet RIDICULOUSLY COMMON quotes…you know like “Time flies” or “Save the best for last” just to see if I can get them retweeted. I wonder how long it would take for people to catch on or if it would just blend in with all the other quotes that are not new to anyone. ANYONE.
9. I love people. Love them. Long and deep. They energize me. I’m going to tap this for a book that is coming up. I’m super close to proposing the book, even though I still sometimes feel miles away from titling it or clearly describing its thesis. Pray for my little brain to grow?
