Our own backyard. Playing in it was always an adventure. The garden became the deepest darkest rainforest. Running through the sprinkler is like shooting the rapids. The rustle of fallen leaves were ghosts in the graveyard. And the sandbox became the deep craters we walked on the moon. Our backyard is still here. Promising more outdoor adventure than ever before. A 19 million acre playground that’s pure Michigan.
Pure Michigan began with a 2006 advertising campaign featuring the voice of comedian Tim Allen. The campaign was intended to promote tourism, but in doing so, it also captured a way of life–a way of abandoning busyness and getting back to what matters.
