Confessions of an unSerious Blogger

This website has been up and running for a little while now.
But my belief in it didn’t go live the same time the site did.

I should frame this confession by saying that I’ve had some other websites.
Portal Ministries was my starter site, the one that got me “discovered” by a publisher.
Then there was DearChurch.Com, which corresponded to my first book, and invited people to write letters to the church online.
Then when it looked like I might write more than one book, there was a scramble toward a broader site that could represent me beyond one angst-filled twenty-something title.

I landed on a “blog”.
And I began these not-so-steady streams of off the cuff commentary on, well, anything.

But something has been growing in my spirit (and via my conversations with some trusted friends) that has made me want to be more intentional in the way I own this space.

I’ve long said that because the world is so screwed up, none of us can afford to be neutral.
But I am just now getting around to letting that in-person passion spill onto my web-presence.

There’s been some subtle shifts already and there will be quite a few more over the next month.
Where I’m headed, if you haven’t picked up on it yet, is blogging more about what makes me tick.
And the thing that burns hottest in me is a love for and belief in human relationship.

I believe humans are living a fraction of the relationship God designed for us to have.
And I can’t wait to start believing that from my blog as much as I live it in real life.
