The Florida Months of Michigan

Summer has always been  a beautiful stretch of my life. It’s the Florida months of Michigan. :)

This summer is no different. It’s the wind down from the school year. Its the chance to soak up some love with family and friends. And, this summer, it has also provided the chance to meet many of my readers at speaking engagements across the country.

Just two speaking engagements left in 2010 (*sigh* of contented relief)–one in Seattle and one in Wisconsin (see schedule for details).

Then I’m looking forward to resuming my role as a teacher in an urban alternative school. (Speaking engagements will resume in Spring of 2011).

In the mean time, another plus of summer is the extra reading time, fueled by the Summer Blog Tour and Book Recommendations of Picking Dandelions readers. This week, blogger Nathan Edwards adds his review and picks to our ongoing list below.

Reviews also went up over at To the Tune of Tim ( Tim McGeary ) and on Roomination (Amy Maris). Oh, and if you’re curious what it means to have a “girl crush” on an author, check out an interview Sarah did at the Stubborn Servant blog maintained by Nicole Unice.

Here is the updated Summer Reading list with this week’s new picks:

Your post caught my eye, Sarah as I’ve just returned from Florida and will soon be heading up to Michigan–then, imagine my delight when I found my first book on your reading list.
For any of your readers who enjoy the Jane Austen time period and want more of it (for free) , they can take advantage of some resources on my website, such as illustrated articles about the time. Free, no sign up necessary. (http://www.LinoreBurkard.com/resources.html)

If you do get to my book, I’d love to hear how you like it. : )

Thanks for that beautiful picture of Michigan and it whets my appetite to get there. I’ve heard that the lake has even warmed up this summer enough for swimming! (in the 70s) Hope that’s true. : )

    Thanks,

    Linore
