There Is Nothing Tim Ferriss Can’t Do in Four Hours(A Brain Dump For Writers)
- The New York Times released their list of 100 notable books from 2011. There’s nothing that will make you feel less educated and cultured than seeing how few of them you actually read. (And no, catching glimpses of their covers in the airport bookstore doesn’t count.)
- While you witness our 2011 society moving away from books-on-paper, you might want to learn a little bit about how they got there to begin with here.
- John Grisham gave a snazzy interview about the life of a writer whose name became his brand.
- And Bob Mayer took on the conventional publishing big shots this week too. His message? Your e-books are overpriced, sirs.
- Also, this just in: Tim Feriss’ new book, The Four Hour Chef, is coming out in time for Christmas. Apparently there is nothing Tim can’t do in four hours. =)
- Seth Godin’s Domino Project books have come to an end. It was a good run, Seth. It was a good run.
- In other news, even book gift-giving is changing. Make sure you know how to give an e-book for Christmas. If you don’t need this info in 2011, you’ll need it soon enough. File it away, my friends.
- Some day, when you can at least pretend you have some free time, you might want to search the following hash tags on Twitter:
#writingtip#writingadvice#writing. It can turn up some interesting and helpful stuff. - “If you stuff yourself full of poems, essays, plays, stories, novels, films, comic strips, magazines and music… you will automatically explode every morning like Old Faithful. I have never had a dry period in my life because I feed myself well.” Ray Bradbury

Bob Mayer’s right. I was browsing Amazon’s e-book story the other day and was thinking, “Geesh, if I wanted to pay that much for a book I’d buy the paper version!”
But then again, I am broke as a joke.

Thanks @Tim.
@Travis I love it as a reading addict, but it’s not quite as great as a writer.

Price point is tough for e-books. I’m going to guess that 10-15 years from now we’ll all be slapping ourselves on the forehead because it took us so long to get “it”… whatever the “it” is. I like the idea of keeping an e-book price low for promotion, but I can’t help thinking of all the cheap and free e-books I’ve downloaded and never read…
